We are delighted to have the opportunity to host Jane for a five-day retreat at our home near Toulouse. Over five days you will learn how to create Theatrical Top Hats from a flat pattern and turn them into wearable 3D shapes. You will be introduced to many millinery fabrics including Buckram and Ice Wool. You will be taught how to handle millinery wire and have a go at machining and hand sewing techniques onto your Buckram shape. Regardless of whether you have previous experience with these fabrics or are completely new to them, you will be guided through each step of the making process during the course. You will be given a choice of two flat patterns, full size or half size with a flat brim, which you can choose to curl up at the sides. You can choose the fabric, how you would like to trim it and Jane will show you and guide you on how to bring your visions to life. You will also learn how to use trims; how to apply them to your hats and how to create and sew in a lining. At the end of the workshop, we will look at all your fabulous creations as a class and admire all your hard work! Your showpiece hats will then be yours to take home
